Greyhound Lines In.



The Dallas Bus Terminal and Greyhound Lines Inc. office building was scheduled for renovation through federal grant funding in 2010.

The renovation addressed installation of new metal soffit at existing bus canopy at the Terminal, plumbing system repairs/replacement, flooring repairs.


At adjacent 2nd and 3rd floor offices the project addressed carpe replacement, repaint walls/ceilings, restroom accessibility upgrades, install owner’s relocated modular furniture (space planning required for approx. 110 workstations) and design electrical circuiting and voice/data circuits for workstations.


The construction cost limitation for the project was $ 600,000.00.


SDS was selected and awarded as a Prime Architectural Consultant.

Anson Jones Elementary School, Dallas, TX



Renovation under DISD 2002 Bond Program. The school was originally built in 1955 as one-story brick masonry building. A second floor addition was built in 1985.


The renovation addressed various interior and exterior ADA upgrades, renovation of the building envelope – replacement of windows, repair of exterior walls and fascia; critical MEP upgrades, replacing the existing fire alarm system, restrooms renovation, roofing work, ceilings renovation as well as technology work according the priorities established by DISD and e-rate guidelines.


The construction cost limitation for the school renovation was $ 1,048,280.00.


SDS was selected and appointed as a Prime Architectural Consultant for the project under DMJM Management Program Management Team.

2008



Hill School of Grapevine, Grapevine, Texas



Since founding in 1973, Hill School has provided an optimal educational environment for students who learn differently, and who are of average or above average intelligence. Hill School students have been diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, auditory processing disorders, and other learning hurdles. Some students have had no specific diagnosis, but have chosen Hill School with its smaller classes and more individualized setting to better meet their learning needs. Hill School has two campuses: one in Fort Worth and one in Grapevine.


Hill School of Grapevine Project consisted of interior finish-out to an existing 13,000 SF building to accommodate the growing needs of the private school facility for children up to 6th grade.


The project consisted of complete new design of the interior space to include 9 classrooms, art room, library, computer lab, multipurpose room, catering kitchen, principal’s office with conference room, 3 administrative offices, reception with seating area, restrooms , storage and service areas.


The exterior of the building has been modified to include a new entry and canopy.


The construction cost limitation for the school renovation was $ 850,000.00. SDS was the Prime Architect for the project.

D. A. Hulcy Middle School, Dallas, Texas



Scheduled for renovation under DISD 2002 Bond Program. The school was originally built in 1970 as three-story brick masonry building.


The renovation addressed various interior and exterior upgrades, including replacement of the roof, ADA and critical MEP upgrades, addition of new fire sprinkler system, restrooms and showers renovation, ceilings renovation, science labs renovation as well as technology work.


The construction cost limitation for the school renovation was $ 1,864,869.00.

W. E. Greiner Middle School



Scheduled for renovation under DISD 2002 Bond Program. The school was originally built in 1988 as two-story brick masonry building.


The renovation addressed various interior and exterior ADA upgrades, critical MEP upgrades, addition of new fire alarm horn strobes and upgrading the existing fire alarm control panel, restrooms and showers renovation, ceilings renovation, science labs renovation as well as technology work.

The construction cost limitation for the school renovation was $ 1,585,381.00.


SDS was selected and appointed as a Prime Architectural Consultant for the project under DMJM Management Program Management Team.



2014



Dallas County Community College District North Lake College, Irving, TX



North Lake College, Irving, Texas is a part of the Dallas County Community College District. It was established in 1977 and has experienced tremendous growth since. In the 1990’s the college enlarged its space from the original 249,710 SF to 425,205 with the new “T” and “C” buildings. In recent years the new Library building was added and currently the new “G” building is underway.


The purpose of this project was reclaiming existing spaces are to be vacated when the various groups and departments relocate to the new Buildings and Spaces included in the 2004 Bond Program for North Lake College. The Project is a Design – Build effort. The renovation square footage is approximately 40,000 square feet of existing areas, with a construction budget of $ 3,499,510.00.


SDS teamed up with Phillips/May Corporation and was the Prime Architect for the project.

2008



DCCCD 2004 BOND PROGRAM Program Management, Dallas TX



Dallas County voters overwhelmingly approved a multimillion-dollar bond package for the Dallas County Community College District on May 15, 2004.􀀀The voters of this county gave DCCCD their strong endorsement to move forward with the $450 million bond projects list.


The Dallas County Community College District selected Dallas-based Austin Commercial/Con- Real, Aguirre/3DI and DMJM Management Teams to manage the construction of 37 college addition and renovation projects.


SDS is a member of Austin Commercial/Con-Real’s Project Management Team to provide support as Architectural Consultant responsible for the design review at each design milestone submittal, and site visits during construction for assigned projects managed by Austin Commercial/Con-Real’s Program Management Team.


SDS has also been appointed to serve as an Owner’s Rep by DCCCD to oversee the DCCCD District Office Relocation Project

2003-2006



DISD 2002 BOND PROGRAM,
Dallas, Texas



In January 2002, the voters approved a $1.37 billion bond program to build 21 new schools and add to or renovate all existing schools.


The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees has hired Dallas-based Austin Commercial, Dallas-based Jacobs Facilities Inc./Pegasus Texas Construction, Dallas-based Gallagher Construction, and Los Angeles-based DMJM Management to manage the construction of 20 schools and additions to 37 existing schools in the $1.37 billion bond program.


SDS was a member of the Austin Commercial Project Management Team to provide support as Architectural Consultant responsible for the evaluation and selection of the A/E firms, design review at each design milestone submittal, and site visits during construction for assigned projects managed by Austin Commercial’s Program
